Abstract
The Compensatory Reserve Index (CRI) is a new metric, estimated from pulsatile waveforms, that accurately tracks the compensatory phase of central volume loss or gain. It reports values between 1 and 0 to indicate the proportion of central volume loss the subject can tolerate before collapse, or how well the patient is compensating for acute volume loss. While studied in non-obstetrical patients, we sought to demonstrate how CRI compares to traditional vital signs in the obstetric patient at time of delivery.
