Abstract

In the automotive industry, new approaches are discussed due to the rethinking of the effects of environmental pollution. The electrification of vehicles and electromobility are favorable solutions. In this context, additional and adapted components are needed. As an example, current, linear motion, angles, and rotational speed sensors can be cited. Especially in the automotive industry, those sensors have to fulfill demands from many areas. Magnetoresistive (MR) sensors are already used in this area, which is why this type of sensor is the focus of the following work. This letter shows that angular speed sensors based on the MR effect are able to compensate stray fields by implementing additional on-chip coils, suitable signal processing, and a control loop structure.
