Abstract
Compensation for gain increase with rate in a NaI(Tl) scintillation counter was achieved by using dc negative feedback from the collector of the photomultiplier tube to its dynodes' resistor chain. A 16% gain variation was reduced to 1% by using a nonlinear collector load consisting of resistors paralleled by Zener diodes.
