Abstract

Compensated Receive Signal Data (CRSD) is a product designed to accommodate the signal data that is received and recorded by a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensor. The CRSD product provides a sensor-independent data structure and file format for the transmission and storage of SAR phase history data. The primary use of a CRSD product is in the detection and characterization of received signals from sources external to the radar sensor. The data structure is designed to accommodate the received signal arrays from a variety of SAR sensors. The data structure includes a complete set of metadata that describe the collection geometry and the received signal arrays contained in the product. The metadata include parameters that may be used to form the SAR image from the CRSD signal arrays. The CRSD product is a proposed standard product of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) of the U.S. government. The product enables the signal data from any SAR sensor to be processed by data processing systems that are developed independently of any specific SAR sensor.
