Abstract

We prove a nonstationary variant of the hydrodynamic lemma on compensated compactness and, based on this result, establish the solvability of the generalized Navier–Stokes equations, including the electrorheological system, where the nonlinearity exponent is a measurable function of spatial and time variables.
