Abstract
Abstract Volume 73 of Advances in Botanical Research “Plant Nematode Interactions—A View on Compatible Interrelationships” edited by Carolina Escobar and Carmen Fenoll (series Editors Jean-Pierre Jacquot and Pierre Gadal) was published in 2015, and its contents are still valid in most aspects. Forty-one authors contributed to 14 chapters covering the biology of nematodes, as well as biochemical, genomic and biotechnological aspects of the plant parasitic nematodes interactions (PPNs). The book is centered in the compatible interaction with special emphasis on the characteristics and functions of the nematode-induced feeding sites, the effectors secreted by the nematodes and their role in exploiting plant-cellular processes or interfering with the plant defenses, as well as the application of biotechnology for nematode control. We believe that it is now appropriate for the anniversary volume 100 of ABR to summarize what was described in that volume but also to provide some new aspects of the more recent literature regarding epigenetic regulatory processes and future perspectives for nematode control.
