Abstract

The results of experiments conducted during kharif 2017 and 2018 to determine the compatibility of selected insecticides and fungicides against major insect pests like stem borer, plant hoppers and diseases like blast and sheath blight of rice, are reported. The treatments included spinetoram 6 per cent+methoxyfenozide 30 per cent SC @ 375 mL ha−1; triflumezopyrim 106 SC @ 237.5 mL ha−1; hexaconazole 5 SC @ 1000 mL ha−1; tricyclazole 75 WP @ 300 g ha−1; their tank mix combinations and an untreated control. Spinetoram 6 per cent+methoxyfenozide 30 per cent SC in combination with tricyclazole 75 WP recorded lesser dead hearts (1.34%) and white ear head (1.58%), blast severity (9.33%), sheath blight severity (19.17%) and produced the highest yield (5.13 t ha−1) followed by spinetoram 6 per cent+methoxyfenozide 30 per cent SC in combination with hexaconazole 5 SC (1.59%, 1.52%, 21.50%, 9.67% and 5.03 t ha−1). There was no reduction in the efficacy of these insecticides and fungicides when used as tank mix. No phytotoxicity symptoms were noticed in treated field. So, the tested insecticide and fungicide combinations are compatible with each other and can be safely used as tank mix for the control of simultaneouly occurring rice insect pests and diseases.
