AbstractThe compatibility of poly(N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidone) (PVP) with ethyl methacrylate/2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (EMA/HEMA) copolymers of varying HEMA contents was studied by differential scanning calorimetry. PVP is incompatible with EMA/HEMA copolymers with HEMA contents of 2,1 and 5,7 mol‐%, but is compatible with copolymers with HEMA contents of 7,5, 10,0 and 18,2 mol‐%. The Tg‐composition curves of three compatible systems can be fitted by the Gordon‐Taylor equation.
