Abstract

ABSTRACT A 38-item poverty attitude scale was used to investigate the attitude of social work graduate and post graduate students toward poverty and poor. The students had a mean age of 21.42 years old and were hailing from rural and as well as urban areas. The results showed that students had a generally positive attitude toward poverty and the poor, with positive scores for four out of six factors. On the other hand, students showed mixed attitudes about the causes of poverty, blaming both individual and structural factors. This indicated a need to revise the course structure at both the levels.
