Abstract

The hybrid magnetic bearing (HMB) with six poles possesses the characteristic of symmetrical structure. Thus, direct current and alternating current control can be selected to generate two degrees of freedom levitation forces. In this paper, Firstly, the winding connection modes and the generation mechanisms of levitation force under two control methods are analyzed, and the corresponding equivalent magnetic circuits are given. The force-current relationships and the bearing capacities of the two control methods are deduced. On the premise of the same parameters, we construct two comparison models. The magnetic field distributions, levitation forces and coupling characteristics of the two control methods are compared.
