Abstract

AbstractDescriptions are given of the application of the classical conjugate‐gradient (CG) matrix solution algorithm and variants thereof (three types of preconditioner and the biconjugate gradient method) to the matrix equations obtained on application of the moment method to the reduced subproblems describing radiation from conducting bodies of revolution, and the associated numerical results. A recent debate in the literature on the interpretation of the application of CG methods to electromagnetic problems is put in perspective.
