Abstract

Objective: To compare the effects of antihypertensive agents on arterial structure and function with non-dependent blood pressure reduction. Methods: Sixty-six patients with essential hypertensive were assigned to by the prospective randomized open blinded end-point (PROBE) study, which were divided into two groups by 37 patients in the telmisartan plus amlodipine and 29 patients in the compound amiloride plus amlodipine group, respectively. We compared the beneficial effects of the two groups on arterial stiffness.
