Abstract

ABSTRACT THE tractive performance of a forestry tire (FOR) was determined on three field surfaces using the single wheel tester of the National Institute of Agricultural Engineering (NIAE), Silsoe, England and was compared with the performance of an agricultural tire (AGR) of the same dimensions (67X34-25). The tractive efficiency of the AGR tire was 6% to 10% higher than the FOR tire; similarly, the motion resistance ratio of the FOR tire was higher than the AGR tire (0.11 vs 0.07) because of the difference in design and construction of the two tires.
