Abstract

AbstractThis paper compares a double power law constitutive equation and a hyperbolic constitutive equation for the prediction of superplastic behaviour of a commercial Al‐5083 superplastic aluminium alloy. These constitutive equations are firstly fitted to tensile test data at different strain rates and then they are compared taking into account their capacity to describe the tensile test curves and the mechanical behaviour of the material in general.
