Abstract

One of the most challenged area in fourth generation wireless network is service continuity, i.e., when a mobile node is moving in an overlapping area continuous service must need so there a technique is used called “HANDOVER”. This technique is used to achieve the service continuity, for this we must rely on seamless vertical handover techniques with minimum processing delay. Thus it is necessary to provide seamless handover while moving in heterogeneous wireless network. Heterogeneous wireless networks manage by different operators like WiFi, WiMax etc. In this paper, we compared the three schemes Centralized Vertical handoff decision (C-VHD) Distributed Vertical handoff decision (D-VHD) and Trusted — Distributed Vertical handoff decision (T-DVHD). From these, T-DVHD Scheme provides seamless vertical handoff. The simulation result shows a comparison between three scheme performance in terms of handoff processing delay, end-end delay and throughput.
