Abstract

In the present study, we have made efforts to merge IRS-IC LISS-III multi-spectral data acquired on February 26, 1997 and Panchromatic data of December 16, 1996, using HPF, Price, IHS and P+Xs methods. Statistical and numerical comparisons have been made to evaluate the effect of different merging techniques on distortion of spectral characteristics of higher spectral resolution. The effect of merging using Otsu thresholding technique has been discussed. Mapping of surface features have been carried out using Sobel. Laplacian. High pass filter. The NDVI classified image of merged data show significant land cover changes.
