Abstract

Objectives To observe and compare the clinical effect of ureteroscopic lithotripsy(URS) and mini–percutaneous nephrolithotomy(MPCNL) for the treatment of upper ureteral calculi. Methods 200 cases of patients with upper ureteral calculi in our hospital from September 2012 to January 2015 were collected. And all patients were randomly divided into the study group group(103 cases)and the control group(97cases). The patients in the control group were treated with MPCNL, while the study group's patients were given URS. The operation time, operation success rate, postoperative hemoglobin decrease, postoperative pain, stone clearance rate, postoperative complications, hospitalization time, treatment costs were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of the study group was slightly longer than that of the control group, and the removal rate of initial stones was lower than that of control group(P 0.05). Conclusions The removal rate of URS is almost equal to MPCNL, and URS has the advantages of less pain, rapid recovery and low operation costs. Key words: Ureteral Calculi; Ureteroscopes; Lithotripsy, Laser; Nephrostomy, Percutaneous
