Abstract
We calculate the inelastic tunnelling coefficient due to electron-molecule interactions in a tunnel junction for an exactly solvable model. The results are compared with those obtained in the Born approximation and by the Transfer Hamiltonian method. The latter is shown to be as good as the Born approximation except for very thin (transparent) barriers.
