Abstract
Aims: Concomitant 5FU/MMC with radical radiotherapy is the current standard of care for bladder conserving treatment of muscle invasive bladder cancer [1]. The Royal Sussex County Hospital protocol used 325 mg/m2 bd Monday to Friday of oral capecitabine, in place of week 1 and 4 infusional 5FU, which has the benefit of self-administration at home. Dosing was based on comparative 5FU dosing in the BC2001 trial and its use in oesophageal cancer. This audit evaluates our experience of using this protocol, compared to standard infusional 5FU, with radical radiotherapy for bladder cancer in West Kent.
