Abstract

Observed level intervals within and between the configurations 2s22p2, 2s2p3 and 2p4 of the carbon isoelectronic sequence are compared with the corresponding theoretical values derived from the tables of Cheng, Kim and Desclaux. The differences are expressed by fitted functions of Z which give the systematic correction to the theoretical values and smooth out the accidental errors in the experimental values. The results are summarized in tables of recommended level values for Z = 8-36 and recalculated wavelengths for Z = 9 - 28.
