Abstract
The theoretical behaviour of reflectivity and transmission of multilayers using a complex index of refraction resulting from the optical theorem is calculated numerically by a complex matrix multiplication method. It is applied to the antireflecting layer and for different layer sequences of supermirrors and compared with measurements. Resulting limits and some ways to overcome these are discussed.
