Abstract

This paper deals with the study of high-energy reactions of the type 0 −+ 1 2 +→0 −+ 3 2 + . The problem is approached theoretically in two different ways: the absorptive peripheral model and the Regge-pole theory. The latter is treated with particular emphasis on the removal of kinematic singularities from the helicity amplitudes. The models are finally compared with one another and with recent experimental data on the production of the N ∗(1236) and Y ∗(1385) resonances.
