Abstract
In continuation of our work on photocatalytic metathesis reactions, the metathesis of 2-octene using the W(CO) 6/ hv/CCl 4 catalyst system was studied in photo-induced and photoactive reaction conditions and the results were compared with those obtained previously with 1-octene. The yields, selectivities and rates of metathesis reactions of terminal and internal olefins were quantitatively presented on a comparative basis.
