Comparison of the molecular structures of (π-C 5H 5)Fe(CO) 2-P(CF 3) 2 and (π-C 5H 5)Fe(CO) 2P(O)(CF 3) 2

Abstract

On oxidation of (π-C 5H 5)Fe(CO) 2P(CF 3) 2 at phosphorus the FeP bond length decreases from 2.265(3) to 2.191(3) Å, while the mean FeCO bond length increases from 1.768(7) to 1.780(7) Å and the CO stretching bands shift from 2046 and 2000 cm -1 to 2062 and 2019 cm -1.
