Abstract
Objective To analyze the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) detection results through the different immunology tests. Methods 126 AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) patients treated in our center from May 2016 to March 2017 were selected. Through the Western blotting, 50 negative HIV antibody cases and 76 positive HIV antibody cases were proved. The detection accuracy based on the ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) and immune colloidal gold technique were compared. Results 114 positive HIV antibody cases (90.5%) and 12 negative HIV antibody cases were confirmed by ELISA; 109 positive HIV antibody cases (86.5%) and 17 negative HIV antibody cases were confirmed by immune colloidal gold technique, which showed no statistically significant difference between groups (P>0.05); but the positive detection rate based on the ELISA was higher than that of immune colloidal gold technique. Conclusion For AIDS patients, both ELISA and immune colloidal gold technique have the high detection accuracy of HIV antibody and are easy to operate, worthy of clinical promotion.
