Abstract

. The conducted research is connected with ultrasonic cleaning of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines of passenger cars running on gasoline. A hypothesis is proposed for the use of ultrasonic radiation to clean exhaust gases from harmful impurities and solid particles. An experimental automobile muffler has been developed that simulates the ultrasonic cleaning process. The results of experimental studies are presented, proving the possibility and efficiency of using the process of ultrasonic cleaning from harmful impurities and solid particles. Experimental data on changes in toxic impurities and the dependence of the mass of solid particles (soot) on the settling distance are shown, which will be used in the calculation and design methodology when creating the design of an ultrasonic automobile muffler
