Quantification of fungal DNA in crop debris by PCR could contribute to the development of strategies aimed at managing plant diseases. Five protocols were tested for its efficiency in the isolation of Fusarium graminearum DNA from crop debris. A CTAB-based method provided the best results (free of inhibitors) as confirmed by conventional and qPCR.
