Abstract
Psychological support, premedication with analgesics, and local anesthesia are the most widely used methods for pain management during gynecological surgeries. The World Health Organization's (WHO) Safe Abortion Technical and Policy Guidance for Health Systems Guideline recommends the use of manual vacuum aspiration for first-trimester induced abortions for pain management. We aimed to compare the efficacy of lidocaine used for pain management in first-trimester voluntary termination to endometrial sampling and its relation to anxiety.
