Abstract
The daily number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths per capita are important characteristics of the pandemic dynamics indicating the appearance of new coronavirus strains, the effectiveness of quarantine, testing and vaccination. The second year of the pandemic allowed us to compare the averaged daily number of cases and deaths in the period from September to December 2020 with the same period in 2021 in some northern countries and regions: Ukraine, EU, the UK, USA, some countries located in tropical zone and south hemisphere: India, Brazil, South Africa and Argentina and in the whole world in order to find some correlations with seasonal factors, the percentage of the fully vaccinated people and boosters. The results showed that existing vaccines cannot prevent new infections and vaccinated people can spread the infection as intensively as non-vaccinated ones, but vaccinations can diminish the numbers of death per capita
