Abstract
A comparison of the broadband performance of four different microwave power divider/combiner networks is presented. Each network is designed to have a Butterworth (maximally flat magnitude) response versus frequency, and each is limited to approximately the same physical size and number of elements. The analysis of the four networks is presented, and is followed by their performance characteristics in terms of s-parameters. Certain superior characteristics are noted for each network, and measured results are presented to confirm the theory. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 17: 29–37, 1998.
