Abstract

In a subjective test assessing human annoyance to low‐amplitude sonic booms, different subjective testing methods were utilized. These included a hybrid categorical line scaling method as well as magnitude estimation with two different reference sounds. The test methods will be discussed, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Other topics of discussion will include experimental design, data analysis, as well as subject participant preference.
