Abstract

Purpose: Alterations to range of movement (ROM) of the glenohumeral joint (GHJ) due to restrictions in the posterior structures have been linked with a number of shoulder pathologies. Treatment for posterior shoulder tightness (PST) has mainly focused on stretching and multimodal treatments within the literature. The aim of this study was to assess if there was a difference between a sleeper stretch and a GHJ mobilisation in increasing ROM on 3 posterior shoulder tests in asymptomatic participants.
