Abstract

Single date and multidate Landsat MSS and Thematic Mapper (TM) data were simulated utilizing helicopter spectrometer data from 5 years of commercial field data and actual field boundaries and land use from a 5 × 6- nautical mile sample segment in Kingsbury County, South Dakota. Single-date simulations for MSS and TM clusters showed a decrease in mixed pixels on the borders of fields with TM, but an increase in the number of TM clusters for cover types which have significant within-field variability.
