Abstract
A simple method is described for studying the reactions of metastable Ar( 3P 0) and Ar( 3P 2) atoms separately in a discharge-flow system. CO and Kr quench these states with rate constants in the ratio k 0 (CO)/ k 2 (CO) = 8±1 and k 2 (Kr)/ k 0(Kr) = 18±2.
