Hair loss leads to lowered self-esteem, lack of confidence and depression amongst affected individuals. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permitted management options for male Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) are topical Minoxidil and oral Finasteride. These agents are beneficial in controlling hair loss, but can only induce minimal new hair growth.
