Abstract

We calculate the ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\chi}}}^{2}$ of various NN potential models with respect to the pp scattering data. We find that only the potential models which were explicitly fitted to the pp data give a reasonable description of these data. Most models give a pretty large ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\chi}}}^{2}$ on the very low-energy pp data, due to incorrect $^{1}$${\mathit{S}}_{0}$ phase shifts.
