Abstract

It has been reported that frozen-thawed ICSI embryos have impaired potential for implantation and live birth when compared to frozen-thawed embryos created by conventional IVF. This report was followed by a number of publications reporting similar pregnancy rates from frozen-thawed IVF and IVF-ICSI embryos. The aim of this study was to analyze our own data in order to determine whether ICSI embryos have survival rates similar to those of IVF embryos and whether ICSI patients have an impaired chance to benefit from a subsequent frozen embryo transfer.
