Abstract

The PDOP (Position Dilution of Precision) is a key index used for evaluating the effect of satellite-receiver geometry on the accuracy of positional parameters. In multi-GNSS positioning, the time offsets between different systems can be calculated at system level or user level. The two methods have different ways to deal with the time offsets, but they have the same positional parameters about the receiver position. We focus on the characteristics of the PDOP related with the accuracy of the positional parameters in this work. The comparison of the sizes of the PDOP at system level and user level has been derived and it can enrich the research in multi-GNSS positioning. Moreover, the basic reason why the PDOP has this property has also been discussed.
