Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and flexible ureterorenoscopy (F-URS) in the management of caliceal diverticular calculi. Methods A retrospective review was performed on 20 patients with caliceal diverticular calculi who underwent PCNL and 18 patients with caliceal diverticular calculi who underwent F-URS between June 2010 and July 2017. The following parameters such as operative time, blood loss, hospitalization time in postoperative, surgical complications and success rate were analyzed. Results Comparing to the PCNL group, F-URS group has advantages in the average operation time, estimated blood loss and mean hospitalization time in postoperative (P 0.05). Conclusion Both PCNL and F-URS are effective for caliceal diverticular calculi. Key words: Caliceal diverticular calculi; Percutaneous nephrolithotomy; Flexible ureterorenoscopy
