Abstract

In this study the nutritional habits of adults in Slovenia were studied on 2,183 individuals who were grouped into three age categories: from 18 to 25 years, 26 to 45 years and 46 to 65 years. The food frequency questionnaire was applied. By the computer programme Microdiet Version 9 the average quantity of nutritional substances (protein, carbohydrates, total sugar, dietary fiber, total fat, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids) and energy values were determined. We estimated frequency and time of daily meals, frequency of daily consumed food, nutritional habits and body activity with regard to adult age groups. The results were also evaluated by means of statistical analysis. It was found out that there are some significant statistical differences between adult age groups. We found out that adults in age group above 45 years have better nutritional habits.
