Abstract

In this paper, we report the long range oscillatory spin polarization effects of Ni and Zn doping in YBa 2Cu 3O 7 by 89Y NMR. From comparison of the magnetic moments of the Ni and Zn impurities measured by susceptibility ( p Ni =1.6 μ B and p zn =0.36 μ B ) with the impurity-induced NMR linewidths, we find that the Ni moments couple much more weakly to the conduction band than the Zn moments, by a factor which might be a large as 21.
