Abstract

Materials/Methods: Tracking data sampled every 0.1 seconds throughout treatment was analyzed for 10 patients treated prone, and 15 treated supine, with SMLC IMRT for localized prostate cancer utilizing the Calypso System between November 2007 and December 2009. Plans meeting institutional standards for prostate coverage and normal tissue sparing were generated using 0, 3, and 5 mm PTV expansions. To model the actual delivered prostate dose, a custom software application computed all prostate translations and rotations based on real-time tracking data from each fraction, and applied rigid body transformations to the prostate structure contoured at simulation within the planned dose cloud. The rigid transformation model was then used to compare actual minimum prostate dose as a percentage of planned minimum dose (Dmin%), and actual prostate volume covered by the prescription dose as a percentage of the planned volume at prescription (VRx%). This data was obtained for both prone and supine treatments for each PTV margin.
