Abstract

In this paper, three different approaches of model-based sensorless control in the medium and upper speed region are surveyed. The considered machine type, a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine, offers a high magnetic saliency as well as a low normalized permanent magnet flux linkage. The three methods differ in the implementation effort and the number of tunable parameters. The previously published ideas are shortly summarized and developed further in order to enable a simple tuning. Experimental results are presented and are evaluated with respect to speed and position error.
