Abstract

Comparisons are reported of colour-test results made on greasy wool after cleaning by using the two methods of test-specimen preparation in the IWTO colour-test method. It is shown that the burr content of the greasy wool was the main factor affecting the difference between methods. The results support the inclusion of the two methods of test-specimen preparation in the IWTO TME for yellowness measurement. They also support the exclusion of lightness measurements for all but blender-method results on high-yielding wools with no medicago burr.
