Abstract

The demand of shielded cables and connectors has recently been increased in the area of electrical vehicles as well as of aerospace and defense. The performance of shielded cables and connectors is measured by transfer impedance or screening attenuation. IEC 62153-4 series standards define the transfer impedance and screening attenuation and describe the measurement method of these parameters. This paper introduces the international standard, IEC 62153-4-3, measurement method of transfer impedance for shielded cable and analyzes the measurement result of the transfer impedance according to the standard. For this measurement, a coaxial cable RG-6 is used which has the characteristic impedance of 75 Ω.
