Abstract
A comparison is made of isotopic immunoassay and enzyme-immunoassay for the detection of antibodies to larval toxocariasis in man. All test parameters were constant except the isotopic or enzymic labels and their detection methods. Both assays were highly sensitive and reproducible and gave comparable results. Differences were observed in the kinetics of conjugate dose-responses and in the higher degree of non-specific binding of isotope-labelled conjugate compared to enzyme-labelled conjugate.
