Abstract
Abstract Mitomycin-treated and irradiated mouse spleen cells were compared as stimulating cells in allogeneic mixed lymphocyte culture (MLC) and as sensitizing cells in in vitro allogeneic sensitization. C57BL/6 and BALB/C spleen cells were irradiated at doses up to 5000 rads or treated with mitomycin C to inhibit DNA synthesis. Irradiated cells, as well as mitomycin-treated cells, were efficient both in stimulating MLC and in sensitizing in vitro.
