Abstract

Use of frozen ejaculated sperm is often necessary for fertilization in IVF-ICSI cycles in patients with non-male factor infertility. Studies assessing outcomes between fresh and frozen sperm have mostly been conducted in patients with male factor infertility or with surgically retrieved spermatozoa. While some studies have shown that frozen and fresh sperm result in similar outcomes, others have found fresh to be superior; however, often these studies have been unable to control for oocyte quality.
