Abstract

Of 200 patients with ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction (AMI), all received antiplatelet and antithrombotic therapy, and 186 patients (93%) underwent coronary revascularization. Left ventricular thrombi were diagnosed by 2-dimensional echocardiography ≤1 week after AMI in 19 of 114 patients (17%) with anterior wall AMI and in 3 of 86 patients (3%) with non–anterior wall AMI (p <0.001).
