Comparison of fixed-point FIR digital filter design techniques

Abstract

The multiplier block digital filter design algorithms recently introduced by the authors, are found to design superior filters, in terms of complexity minimization, to two well-established techniques, namely the sigma-delta coding of coefficients, and the cascading of simple sections using genetic algorithms.
